Length sorting lines

Length sorting lines are the simplest sorting systems in a sawmill. The timber is conveyed longitudinally over wheels and dropped according to the distance between the wheels and the length of the timber. Usually, the timber is sorted in piles and has to be stacked manually.

Depending on the number of different lengths produced in a mill, length sorting requires relatively long lines; grading by quality occurs during the manual stacking of the timber.

We also provide mobile stacking aids that can be moved to the individual drop-off positions of a length sorting line.
